Al-Hehduje

Government:

Theocracy [CR:4]

Population:

280 million

Background:

In the harsh deserts and plains of Hehduje lies the theocratic regime of Al-Hehduje, Al-Hehduje means “The Emperors Hehduje” and the nation is governed by a religious caste that viciously defends the country's rather harsh and demanding regime. Just 50 years ago Borsh tried to establish a pro Borsch regime in the countrry The Emperors Elders also known af the Al-Mufthi is the governing body consisting of 27 men selected from the different areas of Al-Hehduje. One elder is elected before the other elders by a unanimous vote by the Al-Mufthi. This man is known as the Grand Muff or El-Mufthi. The Present Grand Muff is a technology, science interested and nationalistic man called Faddihr Faruhk (by some called Phonix herorion Helge the forth). The Grand Muff has brought Al-Hehduje into armed conflict with the country's wast neighbor Nork. The present war with Nork erupted over control of oilfields and mining rights in the Imperial Mountains making a natural border between the two nations. Neither of the regimes have gained a upper hand in the now 7 year long struggle for the precious resources and the war wages on slowly grinding the youth and capital of both nations into dust.

Capital:

El-Badhir. El-Badhir has as long as anyone can remember been the capital of Al-Hehduje and it will probably continue on for the next millennium. It's one of Necromundas most beautiful cities with its many spires and cathedrals of worship of the divine father The Emperor. El-Badhir houses the bureaucracy of the nation all of it placed in a closely guarded island in the centre of the city called the Ahrya meaning the diamond. This is also where the Al-Mufthi congregates regularly. The El-Badhir is the largest city in the nation with a population of 51 million citizens.

Other noteworthy cities and places:

Inshallabad:

This apparent boring and lackluster but big city houses the religious center of Al-Hehduje, several Grand Muffs have considered moving the government to Inshallabad due to the stronger religious ties, but no one have ever done it yet. Inshallabads population is approximately 38 million

Fort Sa'Dah:

This military installation located in the Imperial Mountains was build to defend the Al-Shabab Gulf against Somaal pirates but now serves as a solid bridgehead in the mountain combat zone. Fort Sa'Dah has never been conquered by hostile forces.

Al'Harad:

The westernmost city of Al-Hehduje, Al'Harad has seen some fierce house-to-house fighting during the war with Nork and have actually been under Norkian control a few times lately. The City is sparsely populated today after all the fighting. Once the city housed around 5 million people today the population i at best 100.000 and those staying behind usually have a very good reason to do so.

Harib:

This is not at particularly big city but Harib houses Al-Hehdujes military research laboratories. The city is not far form Cap Quaida Bay which is rumored to house experimental vessels and leftovers of scientific mishaps. Harib is a closed city to foreigners and many Hehdujians as well. The population is around 1 million

Al'Irqah:

Before the war Al'Irqah was often visited by Norkians and Cubradorians for a relaxing and good time. Al'Irqah is a warm and welcoming city with one of the best beaches of the Imperator Gulf, the city has a very relaxed attitude in Al-Hehdujian standards allowing alcoholic beverages and scantly clad people. Even today a ferry sails to and from The El-Cubrador capital Havalona twice a week. Al'Irqah's population is 13 million

Helhar:

The port of Al-Hehduje, the first big Al-Hehduje city to encounter when traveling into the Imperator Gulf. Helhar houses two mighty cannons defending the city and restricting any entrance into the gulf, the guns can reach almost to the northernmost parts of the gulf forcing Norkian ships to travel very close to the treacherous cliffs of El-Cubrador. Helhar is home to some 7 million souls.

Laskhar Zabol:

This rather independent and large city is governed by the eastern tribes of Al-Hehduje and the rule is harsh and brutal, death penalty is often applied by the local law enforcement, and often without a fair trial. The central government of Al-Hehduje has always tolerated this to keep tensions between the different tribes at a minimum. Lashkar Zabol also have a large Borsch trading station located in the city. The population is 17 million
